UD Involvement:

I’m an officer for the outing club, a member of the Down to Earth food Co-op, and an employee at UD’s rock gym.

Why I chose Delaware:

I wanted to study art, but leave the doors open to explore other classes. Delaware has let me be well rounded in my academic exploration.

Advice for a new student:

Be your whole self right away. Everyone is feeling uncomfortable a bit in the beginning, but stay true to your values and interests and you’ll find people like you.

Advice for their parents:

Give them space to become themselves, and always support them.

How I decided on my major:

I live for hands-on work and exploring new skills and mediums, and Fine Arts lets me do that. I’ll be in the darkroom developing photos in the morning, and then welding steel in the afternoon. Each day is a new adventure!

Favorite memory of my Summit experience:

Watching the sunrise at the top of Washington’s Monument. I’ve done it four times since then, and it never seems to get old.

Favorite outdoor adventure:

Long distance hiking

Interesting fact:

I like spontaneous dancing, and I do it a lot.

Favorite song:

"Thank God I’m a Country Boy" by John Denver

Favorite spot on Main Street:

Brew Ha Ha
