Student Participation
in Institutional Governance
As constituents of the University community, students are
free, individually and collectively, to express their views
on issues of institutional policy and on matters of general
interest to the student body. The Student Government Association
(SGA)
serves as the student government body for undergraduate students.
Subject to the provisions of Delaware Code Section 5111 of
Title 14, students have a major role in the formulation of
University policies directly affecting them and, through the
Student Government Association, may formulate and
recommend to the University Faculty Senate policies pertaining
to student social activities and conduct. Such policies will
be consistent with federal, state or local laws.
