Student Centers Policies
Introduction
As an academic community, the University of Delaware exists for
the pursuit of learning and truth, for the development of students
as scholars and citizens, and ultimately, for the well-being of
society. To achieve these goals, free inquiry and free expression
are crucial. The University's responsibility for creating and maintaining
an atmosphere conducive to these freedoms is shared by students,
faculty, administrative personnel, and trustees.
The University community accepts its responsibility to develop
policies and procedures that safeguard these freedoms, and to
promote that responsibility within the framework of the University
Charter, the Bylaws of the Board of Trustees, and the Bylaws
of the Faculty. As integral members of the University community,
students exercise responsibility while developing their capacity
for critical judgment and engaging in a sustained and independent
search for truth. Students must exercise their freedoms in a
manner that does not infringe upon the rights and freedoms of
others.
