Chalking
Policy
Student organizations are not permitted to use chalk on campus walkways, patios, buildings, paths, etc. for promoting events, playing outdoor games, or for any purpose. Clean-up charges as well as additional sanctions will be imposed for any individuals or groups found violating this policy. Sanctions may range from fines to loss of all University facility usage privileges to suspension of the organization.
Residents of on-campus residence halls may use chalk outside residence hall spaces in accordance with the following policy.
Policy for Sidewalk Chalking Near Residence Halls
Chalking Areas are provided around residence halls for the purpose of advertising residence hall programs. Each Hall Director or Complex Coordinator regulates the use of the space to ensure that there is not a conflict in the scheduling of the chalking area space and to ensure that the chalked message is related to an upcoming residence hall event. Sidewalk chalking is prohibited within the Central Complex.
