Sigma Kappa's chapter at the University of Delaware is comprised of 98 spirited, talented, smart and diverse women.  The Sigma Kappa women are looking for active, intelligent, energetic and involved young women to join their chapter to continue their legacy and strive for excellence in the future.

Socially, the sisters of Sigma Kappa are always out and about!  We have three to four date parities a year, hayrides, a holiday party and a formal at the end of spring semester.  We also participate in numerous mixers with other sororities and fraternities.  We look forward to Homecoming festivities and seeing alumnae sisters in the fall.  Greek Week is one of our favorite spring activities!

Academically, Sigma Kappa continuously strives for excellence.  In the Spring of 2005, Sigma Kappa had the second highest GPA of all Greek organizations at the University.  We reward sisters for outstanding GPA’s and encourage sisters to get involved in other organizations on campus such as honor fraternities and clubs.

Sigma Kappa is extremely dedicated to its three philanthropies: Alzheimer’s research, gerontology, and the Maine Sea Coast mission.  During 2005-2006 academic year, Sigma Kappa participated in our national annual lollipop campaign and raised over $650 for Alzheimer’s research.  We also sponsor an annual basketball tournament where other Greek organizations and groups come together and participate.  In addition, Sigma Kappa made Thanksgiving decorations and holiday cards for the elderly, and donated goods to the Maine Sea Coast Mission.

Sigma Kappa also has many exciting leadership positions.  For example, Sigma Kappa has 25 leadership positions within the sorority and there are PLENTY of leadership opportunities with the Greek community!

Most important to Sigma Kappa women is their strong sisterhood bond.  We are an extremely close-knit chapter with strong sisterhood ties.  Sigma Kappa’s go everywhere  together from dinner to spring break!!

Though each sister’s face and every dream and goal is unique, the strength of our Sorority lies not in our differences but in our bond.  From Maine to California, from 1874 to today, from sister to sister, together we are all the heart of Sigma Kappa Sorority.  Definitely consider “Going Greek!”  It will be the best decision you make during you college career!  The memories, friendships, and experiences last a lifetime.
