Cindy Pilipczuk, 31, a 1997 University of Delaware mathematics education graduate, will begin her 11th season with the Blue Hen men's and women's squads during the 2007-08 season.
A two-year tennis standout at Delaware after transferring from Saint Joseph's University, she compiled a career record of 34-6 at singles and 31-1 at doubles and was a two-time America East singles runner-up. She also led the Blue Hens to four America East team second place finishes.
While at Saint Joseph's, she posted a two-year record of 11-13 at No. 1 and No. 2 singles and was 8-13 at No. 1 doubles. She was a four-year varsity performer at Mt. St. Joseph Academy in Flourtown, PA in 1989-93
As a player, she teamed with head coach Laura Travis to lead the Blue Hen women's team to four straight America East second place finishes from 1997-2001.
A native of Philadelphia, Pilipczuk has served as a high school mathematics teacher at Salesianum School in Wilmington, DE since 1997. She is still active in tennis and is ranked among the top women's players in the state of Delaware.
