RICHMOND, VA -- University of Delaware swimmers Maryann Walker and Grady Carter both captured Colonial Athletic Association Swimmer of the Week honors after leading their teams to victories over Georgetown on Saturday.

During the meet, Walker (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) led the women to a 197-103 victory over the Hoyas by capturing four first-place finishes, including three in individual events.

Against Georgetown, Walker won the 100 Backstroke (59.81), 100 Freestyle (53.38), and 200 Individual Medley (2:11.85). She also teamed with Emily Watts, Meghan Barber, and Sarah Begley to capture the 200 Medley Relay, finishing in a time of 1:51.12.

On the season, Walker has now won six individual events and two relays after also winning four events last week against George Mason.

The defending CAA Champion in the 200 Backstroke, Walker has now won Swimmer of the Week honors three times during her career.

Grady Carter won the men’s award after leading the Hens to a 207-91 victory over the Hoyas. For Delaware, it was the largest margin of victory in over nine years.

During the meet, Carter took home first place finishes in the 50 Freestyle (21.23) and the 200 Individual Medley (1:59.50). He also helped anchor the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay squads that also won their events.

On the season, Carter has now won four individual events after also winning two last weekend against George Mason.

The CAA also honored UNC Wilmington’s Kobi Salinas as the men’s Diver of the Week, while Northeastern’s Brittany Gilles earned the women’s honor.

Both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams return to the pool for a tri-meet in Boston with Northeastern and Old Dominion on Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m.
