BALTIMORE -- University of Delaware swimmers captured three first place finishes during the first day of the H2Ounds Invitational hosted by Loyola College Friday evening.

The four-team invitational, which also includes host Loyola, Niagara, and Marist, will continue with the final day of action Saturday morning.

The Delaware women posted 16 top 10 finishes, including wins in the 400 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay, while the Blue Hen men captured 11 top 10 finishes, including a first place finish by Andrew Zinn in the 50 freestyle.

Zinn captured the 50 freestyle in a career-best 21.22, joined John Ohlhaver, Mark Erdosy, and Adam Blomberg in placing second in the 400 medley relay in a time of 3:35.27, and teamed with Brendan Spencer, Blomberg, and T.K. Foulke in placing third in the 800 freestyle relay in 7:13.66.

Spencer also placed fourth in the 200 individual medley (2:01.27), Joe Virion was fifth in the 500 freestyle (4:51.29), Daniel Abbott was sixth in the 200 individual medley (2:02.93), and Ohlhaver was seventh in the 50 freestyle (22.44). Delaware also placed sixth in the 800 freestyle and seventh in the 400 medley relay.

On the women’s side, Kendall Warren, Stephanie House, Meredith Law (at right), and Maryann Walker teamed to win the 800 freestyle relay (7:51.21) and Brenna Davis, Kellie Pastore, Sarah Begley, and Walker captured the 400 medley relay (3:59.16).

Rachel Greene was second in the 50 freestyle (24.93), Michelle Stephens was second in the 200 individual medley (2:13.37), Ellen Heinz was second in the 500 freestyle (5:10.94), Walker was third in the 50 freestyle (25.02), Pastore was third in the 200 individual medley (2:16.03), and Law was third in the 500 freestyle (5:10.94).
