RICHMOND, VA -- For the second time in three weeks, University of Delaware freshman Alyson Oliver has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Diver of the Week.
Oliver (right), a freshman from West Palm Beach, FL (Suncoast High School), earned the award this week after sweeping the two diving events in Delaware’s 160-78 win over Loyola Saturday afternoon. She also earned the CAA weekly award on January 10.
The Blue Hens, who will close out the dual meet season this Friday, Jan. 27 at Bucknell, earned their ninth straight win with the victory over Loyola and improved to 11-1 on the season. The nine-meet win streak is the longest for Delaware since a school-record streak of 42 straight wins in 1980-83 and the 11 wins are the most for the squad since the 1981-82 team went 12-0.
Oliver swept the one-meter and three-meter events vs. Loyola and was one of 10 different UD student-athletes to win an event. She won the one-meter event with a score of 251.40 points and captured the three-meter event with a score of 237.67.
Oliver has swept the two diving events in four of the team’s eight meets in which diving was contested his season.
Other CAA weekly award winners were CAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week Nate Tschohl of Old Dominion, Women’s Swimmer of the Week Christine Filak of James Madison, and Men’s Diver of the Week Noah Scully of Old Dominion.
