November 8, 2003 Fields, Fitzgerald and Stephens win twice for UD Women FAIRFAX, VA -- The University of Delaware's Kim Fields, Jill Fitzgerald, Sara Stephens and Alex Skacel were double-winners, but it wasn't enough to prevent George Mason from sweeping the men's and women's dual swimming meet on Saturday afternoon. George Mason won the men's meet, 170-123, and the women's meet, 168-132. Fields won the women's 500 and 1000-yard freestyle events while Fitzgerald swept the 100 and 200-yard freestyle and Stephens won the 100 and 200-yard butterfly events. Stephens' 200-butterfly time of 2:06.40 was the third-fastest in UD history, as was her 100-butterfly time of 58.13. Sarah Peffer also won the 400 IM and finished second in two other events for the Blue Hens. Skacel won the 100 and 200-yard backstroke events to lead the Delaware men. Cory Sanderson also won the 400 individual medley for the Blue Hens. The Delaware men (1-3) and women (3-1) will host rival Drexel next Saturday at Rawstrom Pool at 1 p.m. WOMEN'S AGATE:
