January 9, 1999 NEWARK, DE -- George Washington University won 12 races in the men's meet and 11 in the women's meet to post a sweep over host University of Delaware in a non-league swimming and diving meet Saturday at Rawstrom Pool. The Colonial men (6-0) defeated Delaware 157-86 while the GW women (5-1) defeated the UD women 158-85. The Delaware men fell to 3-5 on the season while the women's team fell to 4-4. On the women's side, George Washington had two double winners to post the victory. Delaware took two first place finishes as freshman Kathryn Fryer (Severna Park, MD HS) won the 200 butterfly in 2:14.09 and Tanya Mainville (Cheshire, CT HS) captured the three-meter dive (241.80). Also placing second for the Hens were the 400 medley relay team (4:09.73), the 400 freestyle relay team (3:54.63), Jennifer Haus (St. Mark's HS/Newark, DE) in the 100 freestyle (54.87) and 200 freestyle (1:56.81), and Amanda Stouffer (O.J. Roberts/Spring City, PA) in the 50 freestyle (25.64). George Washington def.
