Email: schuster@udel.edu John Schuster enters his 21st season as the University of Delaware men's and women's diving coach for the 2003-04 season. A native of Westchester, Illinois, Schuster was an All-American diver at Clarion (Pa.) University graduating in 1974, and earning his master's degree in physical education at Eastern Illinois University where he was diving coach for three years. He also spent two seasons as swimming and diving coach at MacMurray (Ill.) College. At Delaware, Schuster has coached several diving champions including three-time conference champions Nell Rose Foreman and Dave Caffo, and two-time champions Beth Ian, Ali Al-Hasan, and most recently 2002 and 2003 Colonial Athletic Association Female Diver of the Year Julie Van Deusen. Van Deusen competed at the NCAA championships in 2002 at the University of Texas, becoming the first diver in UD history to advance to the national championships. Schuster, an physical instructor at the University of Delaware, lives in Newark and has three daughters. Daughter, Megan, was a diver and co-captain on the a 2000-01 UD women's swimming & diving team.
