WEST CHESTER, PA - Tanya Mainville's two diving event victories were not enough as the University of Delaware drops both the men's swimming meet, 162-81, and the women's swimming meet, 132-111 to West Chester University Saturday.

Senior Tanya Mainville (Cheshire, CT/Cheshire) captured both the one-meter and three-meter diving events with scores of 220.85 and 239.40, respectively. Mainville has competed in six events this season, winning all six.

Also for Delaware, sophomore Jennifer Haus (Newark, DE/St. Mark's) took the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.98. Teammate Lisa Dillinger, senior (Crofton, MD/Palloti) captured the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:09.82. Senior Sara Dyson (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) scored a victory in the 200 breaststroke, winning with a 2:28.71 time.

On the men's side, Delaware was led by sophomore Ian Miller (Dover, PA/Dover), who finished second in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle events. Junior Luke Schneck (Edinboro, PA/Cathedral Prep) finished second in the 1000 freestyle event. Junior Mike Gallaher (West Peabody, MA/Peabody) finished second in the 500 freestyle, while senior Tom Maday (Lexington Park, MD/Great Mills) had a second place finish in the 200 breaststroke.

West Chester's Kyle Almony captured the 1000 freestyle, 200 fly and 500 freestyle to lead the Rams to a team victory on the men's side. Megan Straehle of West Chester captured the 200 freestyle and 200 fly to lead the lady Ram swimmers.

Delaware will next take to the waters next Saturday as it hosts conference opponent Drexel in both men's and women's action. The meet will take place at 1 p.m. at the Rawstrom Pool in the Carpenter Sports Building.
