2nd Place NEWARK, DE -- The host University of Delaware women placed second overall and the Blue Hen men placed third in a non-league swimming and diving quad meet Saturday at Rawstrom Natatorium. Lehigh won both meets as the Mountain Hawk men earned 1,085 points to outdistance runner-up American (938), Delaware (887), and Stony Brook (438) in the four-team meet. The Lehigh women, who won 11 events, posted 1,118 points to edge runner-up Delaware (950.5), American (889), and Stony Brook (383.5). The Delaware men captured two first place finishes and five second place finishes on the day. Brian Aston (Cheshire CT HS) won the three-meter diving with a score of 408.20 and was second in the one-meter event. Teammate Dave Troskey (William Penn HS) won the one-meter (393.65) and was second behind Aston in the three-meter (404.65). Also for the Hens, senior Tom Maday (Great Mills/Lexington Park, MD) placed second in both the 100 breaststroke (59.87) and in the 200 breaststroke (2:12.39). Luke Schenck (Cathedral Prep/Edinboro, PA) was second in the 1,650 freestyle (16:53.00). American won 14 events on the day. Delaware's lone winner on the women's side was senior Tanya Mainville (Cheshire, CT HS) who won the one-meter diving event with 336 points and placed second in the three-meter dive with 349.5 points. Earning second place finishes for the Blue Hens were Lisa Dillinger (Pallotti/Crofton, MD) in the 100 backstroke (1:01.29) and 200 backstroke (2:10.11), Danielle Hack (Susquehanna/Harrisburg, PA) in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.44), Sara Dyson (Liberty/Bethlehem, PA) in the 200 breaststroke (2:31.47), and Kathryn Fryer (Severna Park, MD HS) in the 100 butterfly (59.75).
