TOWSON, MD -- The University of Delaware women's soccer team fired 15 shots, but went home with a 1-0 loss - the Hens' fourth in five matches - at Towson on Sunday afternoon.

Towson defender Meghan Labiak scored the first goal of her college career, the eventual game-winner, in the 41st minute. She gathered a Marissa Gross corner kick and buried the ball into the right side of the net to give the Tigers a lead they would never relinquish.

Towson took 15 of its 23 shots before the halftime horn, putting pressure on Blue Hen goalie Annie Bevan from the outset. The sophomore was up to the task, though, as she collected a career-high nine saves on the day.

Delaware had its share of chances, but couldn't break through for a late equalizer. Midfielders Kasie Shover and Emily Sammis took four shots apiece to lead the Blue Hens (6-7-1, 2-4 CAA), who gave up 14 corner kicks and 10 shots on goal.

Tiger keeper Brandi Daniels made four saves to secure the shutout, while forward Erica Marshall led Towson (8-4-1, 2-3-1 CAA) with five shots. The Tigers snapped a three-match winless streak and downed UD for the first time in seven years.

The Hens return to action on Friday evening, when they host UNC-Wilmington at 7.
