RICHMOND, VA -- Freshman forward Amy Pickard (right), who has scored goals in three consecutive matches for the Blue Hens, was named Colonial Athletic Association Co-Rookie of the Week on Monday.
The Lancaster, PA native netted the Hens' second goal in a 2-0 triumph at Texas-San Antonio on Friday. She followed it up two days later with a game-tying goal late in Delaware's 2-1 double-overtime loss at Baylor.
Pickard, who leads the team with four goals and nine points on the year, also found the back of the net in the Hens' 3-1 defeat at the hands of Georgetown on Sept. 16. She has started all seven matches for Delaware (4-3) and ranks second on the squad with 14 shots.
The Hen striker, who shares the award with Cate Tisinger of James Madison, is tied for seventh in the CAA in goals and tied for ninth league-wide in points.
Pickard is the second Delaware player to score in three straight games this season, as senior forward Emily Sammis did it earlier this month.
JMU forward Annie Lowry took home CAA Player of the Week honors.
