RICHMOND, VA -- Brittain Maas scored the game’s only goal at 27:06 and Lauren Hardison made two saves to lead the Virginia Commonwealth University women’s soccer team past the University of Delaware, 1-0, on Friday night at VCU’s Sports Backer’s Stadium.

Bonnie Mills (right) made seven saves for the Blue Hens (6-3-2, 1-2 CAA), who were outshot 24-4 for the game.

Maas scored the game’s only goal from 25 yards out on the left side of the field. Stephanie Power fed the ball to Maas, who dribbled down the left side before launching the shot that would result in the game’s only goal.

Pernilla Jansson led VCU (7-2-2, 3-0 CAA) with five shots, while Maas and Megan Flanagan registerd four apiece.

The Hens will return to action on Sunday when they travel to James Madison.
