Hammer Throw for Blue Hens

Chiller was the lone UD women's champion with a
first place finish in the hammer
throw

MILLERSVILLE, PA - The University
of Delaware men and women each placed sixth in the team
standings at the Millersville University Metrics Outdoor
Track and Field Meet Saturday at Biemesderfer Stadium.
Shippensburg won the men's meet with 115
points to outdistance runner-up Kutztown University while
Kutztown was the women's team champion with 86 points, six
better than runner-up Shippensburg withi 80.
The Blue Hens had two individual
champions on the day as Pat Boettcher won the men's
1,500 meters in a time o f 4:00.37) while Jennie Chiller
was the winner in the women's hammer throw with a toss
of 148-1.
Taking second place for the Blue Hens was
Mike Yost in the men's hammer (144-5), Claron
Ridge in the men's 800 meters (1:55.36), Caltha
Seymour in the women's hammer (143-9), and Erin
Gemmill in the women's 800 meters (2:17.93).
Yost also placed seventh in the discus
(134-2) and eighth in the shot put (45-5 1/2) while Isaac
Wolkowicz was fourth in the shot put (47 3/4) and 10th
in the discus (132-4) and Jerome Holder was third in
the 400 meter hurdles (55.76) and eighth in the 110 meter
hurdles (15.83).
For the UD women, Kerry Van Riper
was fourth in the hammer (137-4) and 10th in the shot
put (34-10 1/4) while Kristen Frustillo placed fifth
in both the 200 meters (26.56) and 400 meters
(1:00.47).
