BALTIMORE -- The University of Delaware women’s lacrosse squad, coming off a pair of Colonial Athletic Association victories last week, remained at No. 20 in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Association poll and moved up one spot to No. 18 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse poll announced Tuesday.
The Blue Hens (8-4), who are a perfect 6-0 at home this season, face two key CAA matchups this weekend as they take on league-leading Hofstra Friday at 7 p.m. at Rullo Stadium and travel to Drexel Sunday afternoon. Last week Delaware defeated William & Mary 12-6 Friday night and Old Dominion 7-6 in double overtime. All of the Hens’ four losses this season have come to teams currently ranked in the top 20.
Delaware, which has won seven of its last eight games, stayed at the No. 20 spot in the IWLCA poll for the third straight week with 33 points. The Hens also moved up a spot to No. 18 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse poll.

Northwestern remained at the top spot once again in both polls. The Wildcats earned all 15 first place votes in the IWLCA poll and 14 of 15 in the Inside Lacrosse poll.
In the IWLCA poll, Northwestern was followed by Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Duke, Notre Dame, Virginia, Penn State, James Madison, Syracuse, Georgetown, Yale, Johns Hopkins, Vanderbilt, Princeton, Denver, Dartmouth, Rutgers, Connecticut, and Delaware.
In the Nike/Inside Lacrosse poll, Northwestern was followed by Maryland, Duke, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, James Madison, Virginia, Notre Dame, Penn State, Syracuse, Georgetown, Yale, Princeton, Johns Hopkins, Vanderbilt, Denver, Dartmouth, Delaware, Rutgers, and Connecticut.
