NEWARK, DE -- Casey McCrudden (at right), Katie Muth, and Debbie Sloan all tallied four goals as the University of Delaware women's lacrosse team cruised to an easy 18-7 victory over Loyola (MD) Tuesday afternoon at Rullo Stadium.

The win broke a 12-game losing streak for the Blue Hens against the Greyhounds and was Delaware’s 10th of the season, the most wins for UD since the 2000 season.

The Blue Hens (10-5) got a big game from McCrudden, who posted a career-high eight points on four goals and four assists. She also tallied her 100th career goal in the contest. Muth and Sloan each added four goals and an assist.

Loyola (2-13), which has dropped seven straight games, was led by Kate McHarg, who posted a game-high five goals in the loss.

Four Blue Hens reached the 30-goal mark in the game, joining freshman Nicole Flego, who entered the game with 31 goals. Flego, McCrudden, Muth, Courtney Aburn, and Sloan become the first five teammates in Delaware history to all post 30-plus goals in one season. In 1983, the year Delaware won the NCAA Division I national championship, four Blue Hens reached the 30-goal mark.

Delaware scored the first three goals of the game as Flego posted her 32nd goal and Emily Schaknowski added two straight to give the Hens a 3-0 lead. Loyola responded as McHarg posted back-to-back goals for the Greyhounds to cut the UD lead to one.

Muth and Sloan countered with goals of their own to push UD’s lead back to three. Colleen O’Keefe scored her 18th of the season at the 19:42 mark before Delaware went on an 8-0 run to close the half on top 13-3.

Loyola scored three of the first four goals to start the second half but Delaware put the game away with four straight goals to push the lead to 18-6. McHarg capped off her great day with a goal at the 4:48 mark but Loyola would get no closer.

Delaware will complete its regular season Friday as the Blue Hens host Villanova at 7 p.m. at Rullo Stadium. Delaware, which is 8-0 at home this season, will look to become the first team since 1983 to finish the season undefeated at home.
