RICHMOND, VA -- University of Delaware freshman Nicole Flego (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks East) was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week Monday for the second time this season.
Flego (at right) , who was named the CAA Rookie of the Week on February 26 as well, replaces teammate Courtney Aburn who won the award last week.
Flego finished the week with eight goals and five assists for 13 points as the 20th ranked Blue Hens defeated George Mason 15-11 Friday before falling at No. 6 James Madison 19-16 Sunday. In the win over the Patriots Flego posted three goals and three assists. Against James Madison, the rookie recorded five goals, two assists and a ground ball.
Hofstra goalkeeper Maisie Osteen claimed the CAA Player of the Week honors.
The Blue Hens will return home Friday to take on William & Mary at 7 p.m. at Rullo Stadium.
