NEWARK, DE -- University of Delaware freshman Courtney Aburn (right) was named the womenslacrosse.com Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 1.

Aburn (Jarrettsville, MD/John Carroll) earned Rookie of the Week honors after finishing the week with six goals, three assists, and four draw controls in two Delaware victories.

In Delaware's win over Virginia Tech, the freshman scored four goals and recorded two assists to become the first Blue Hens freshman to tally six points in a game since 1993 when Kristina Scanlon posted three goals and three assists against Lehigh on April 27. Aburn also added two goals, an assist and four draw controls against Towson on Sunday.

Aburn ranks fifth on the team with 17 points on 12 goals and five assists.

Caroline Cryer of Duke was named womenslacrosse.com Player of the Week.

The Blue Hens (5-3), who are on a four-game winning streak and rank No. 20 in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Top 20 poll, will next be in action Friday when they travel to CAA rival George Mason at 7 p.m.
