RICHMOND, VA-- University of Delaware women’s lacrosse players Megan Hager and Stacey McPartland were named to the Colonial Athletic Association Second Team, while freshman Debbie Sloan and McPartland were named to the CAA All-Rookie Team as the CAA announced its end of the year awards at the league’s banquet Thursday night.

Hager, a senior midfielder from Berwyn, PA (Conestoga), ranked second on the team with 26 goals and a team-high 12 assists for 38 points. She ranked second on the team with 30 groundballs and 21 draw controls. Hager, who is earning her first CAA post-season honor, scored a career-high five goals over league rival Towson University on March 24.

McPartland, a freshman defender from North Massapequa, NY (Farmingdale), is the first women’s lacrosse player in school history to be named to the CAA Second Team and the All-Rookie Team in the same season. She caused 14 turnovers, picked up 11 groundballs, and earned five draw controls. McPartland was responsible for defending the top scorer from the opposing team each game.

Sloan, a freshman midfielder from Thornton, PA (West Chester East), ranked fifth on the team in scoring with 23 points, including 14 goals and nine assists. Sloan scored two game-winning goals this season, including a 12-11 double overtime win over Denver on February 28 and a 10-9 win over CAA foe George Mason on April 14.

Delaware, which made the CAA playoffs for the first time last season since rejoining the league in 2002, failed to make post-season play after finishing the year at 5-12 overall and 1-6 in conference play.
