Delaware Lets Early
Lead Slip Away in Loss to Tigers
NEWARK, DE -- Leigh Slonaker
scored four goals and Whitney Miller, Theresa Sherry and
Elizabeth Pillion all scored three times as No. 5 Princeton
scored 12 unanswered goals to overcome an early deficit and
down the University of Delaware 17-9 in non-conference
women's lacrosse action Tuesday night at Rullo
Stadium.

Erin Edell scored
two goals for the Blue Hens

Katie Yakulis added a goal and an assist
for the Tigers (5-3), who defeated the Blue Hens for the
14th straight time and improved to 15-4 lifetime against
Delaware.
The Blue Hens (4-5) were led by senior
captain Nikki Kucharski, who posted her third hat
trick of the season with three goals. Sophomore Erin
Edell and freshman Laura Libertini each added two
goals while sophomore Diana Hall and freshman
Kristin Cellucci also scored for Delaware.
Delaware jumped out to a 5-1 lead just
13:10 into the first half on two goals by Edell as well as
scores from Kucharski, Cellucci and Hall, but the Tigers
reeled off the next 12 goals, led by three of Slonaker's
four goals, to stake Princeton to a 13-5 lead. Libertini
broke the 27:21 scoreless drought for the Blue Hens at 15:49
of the second half.
Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Kolodner made
four saves en route to notching her fifth win of the season
for Princeton, while freshman Patrice Hughes suffered
the loss for Delaware, allowing 15 goals while making seven
saves before being replaced by sophomore Lauren
Burtch.
The Blue Hens return to action Thursday
afternoon when they travel to Colorado to take on Regis
College. Game time is set for 4 p.m. MST.
