The University of Delaware announced the addition of Aimee Vaughan as a graduate assistant coach with the Blue Hen women's lacrosse staff January 13, 2003.

During her second season on head coach Denise Wescott's staff in 2004, the Blue Hens posted a 6-10 record but posted wins over 17th-ranked Penn State and over NCAA Tournament participants Temple and Mt. St. Mary's.

A native of Timonium, MD, Vaughan, 27, enjoyed a standout career at Dulaney High School before moving on to James Madison University where she was a two-sport standout and team captain in soccer and lacrosse and made six NCAA Tournament appearances between the two sports, more than any athlete in school history.

A 1998 honors graduate of James Madison with a degree in accounting and a minor in Russian, Vaughan was a four-year standout in soccer as a midfielder, leading JMU to the 1995 Colonial Athletic Association title and three NCAA Tournament appearances. She earned All-CAA honors three times and was the CAA Rookie of the Year in 1994.

She also earned All-Region honors as a senior. In lacrosse, Vaughan played attack and led JMU to the 1997 CAA title and three NCAA Tournament berths. She was a two-time All-CAA selection and earned All-Region honors as a senior.

She currently is pursuing her master's degree in business administration at Delaware.

Since graduation from JMU, Vaughan has worked in Baltimore as a staff accountant with Ernst & Young LLP in Baltimore, as a sales representative with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, and as a sales associate and recruiter with Sudina Search, Inc.

She has been active with the Maryland School for the Blind, Associated Catholic Charities, and has served as a youth lacrosse coach.
