PRINCETON, NJ-- Casey Bennett won the women's pole vault with a school-record leap of 12-6 to lead the University of Delaware to a sixth place finish and the Blue Hen men placed seventh behind freshman Rashaad Woodard's first place finish in the 60 meters Saturday at the Princeton Indoor Relays at Jadwin Gymnasium.

The Delaware women placed sixth in the team standings with 30 points as Rutgers took the team crown with 176 points. Princeton won the men's division with 188 points with the Blue Hen men finishing seventh with 40 points in the 10-team field.

Bennett broke her own school record set earlier this year as she captured the pole vault with a leap of 12-6, seven inches better than her previous best. Also for the UD women, Rachel Young was fourth in the shot put (40-9 1/2), Meghan Weaver was fourth in the 3,000 meters (10:54.07), and the 4 x 400 meter relay team was fourth (4:03.33), Sarah Bochet was sixth in the 800 meters (2:23.13), Reagan Hastings was seventh in the pole vault (9 1/4), Jacqueline Scogna was eighth in the weight throw (42-11), Brittany Wright was eighth in the 60 meters (8.06 in preliminaries), and Jessica Urbonas placed 10th in the shot put (36 3/4).

In Sunday's competition, Delaware freshman Mandy Stille placed second in the pentathlon with 3,332 points. In the process, she set new UD records in the pentathlon, breaking the mark of 2,703 by Danielle Paquette in 1990, and breaking her own school record in the 60 meter hurdles (8.8).

In the men's meet, Woodard led a three-man Delaware sweep in the 60 meters as he ran to a time of 6.94 followed by teammates Roger Brown in second (6.96) and Sidney Haugabrook in third (7.00). All three are also members of the NCAA I-AA national champion Blue Hen football team.

Also for the Hens, Jerome Holder placed third in the 60 meter high hurdles with a time of 8.30, breaking his own school record of 8.44, the distance medley relay was fourth in a time of 10:19.20.6), the 4 x 400 meter relay team placed seventh (3:24.95), Lonnie Starks was seventh in the high Jump (6-1 1/4), Mike Yost placed seventh in the weight throw (51-5), and Ryan Benishake was 10th in the weight throw (44-9 3/4).
