UD Women Set Three School Records

NEW YORK - The University of Delaware women's indoor track and field team set three school records and Jon DiNozzi placed third in the men's pole vault to highlight Blue Hen performances at the New York University Fasttrack Invitational Friday night at the New York Armory.

The Blue Hen women set three school records as freshman Daniella Price set her second record of the season with placing second in the 200 meters with a time of 25.56. That broke the previous mark of 25.60 by Dionne Jones in 1992.

Tyechia Smith placed sixth in the 400 meters with a time of 58.16, breaking her own school record set earlier this season, then joined Rachel Schultz, Kristen Frustillo, and Erin Gemmill in placing second in the 4 x 400 meter relay with a school record time of 3:54.78. The same foursome set the school mark earlier this season.

Also for the UD women, Reagan Hastings and Laura Mattey tied for third in the pole vault (no height available), Gemmill placed fifth in the 800 meters (2:16.32), Kristin Tunell (pole vault) and Frustillo (60 meters, 8.00) placed eighth in their events, and Schultz finished ninth in the 400 meters in 58.92.

For the UD men, DiNozzi placed third in the pole vault (no height available), the 4 x 400 meter relay team placed fifth in 3:20.95, Jerome Holder was fifth in the 60 meter hurdles (8.48), Nick Riordan was seventh in the triple jump (13.37m) and 11th in the long jump (6.12m), Nate Irvin was seventh in the 200 meters (22.57), and John Morgan placed eighth in the 1,000 meters (2:30.39).
