Connell Wins Weight Throw at St. Valentine's Invitational BOSTON, MA -- Brandy Connell capture the 20 lb. weight throw title and the Blue Hens placed in the top 10 in two relay events to highlight University of Delaware women's performances at the St. Valentine's Indoor Track and Field Invitational Saturday at the Boston University Armory. The Blue Hens will see their next action Saturday, Feb. 21 when Delaware hosts the America East men's and women's indoor track and field championships at Delaware Field House. Connell (St. Mark's HS) threw the weight throw 54-3 3/4 to capture that event and later placed 12th in the shot put with a toss of 35-5 3/4. Other Top 20 Delaware finishes saw the distance medley relay team place fourth in 12:37.76; Colleen Christopher (Ursuline Academy) placed fifth in the long jump (17-6 3/4), Sarah Johnson (RHAM Regional/Hebron, CT) placed seventh in the 1,000 meters (3:02.85), 4 x 400 meter relay team was eighth (4:08.1), Kasia Brodka was eighth in the 1,000 meters (3:04.01), Jen Dilzer (Central Regional/Pine Beach, NJ) and Ashley Forlini (Exeter/Reading, PA) tied for 10th in the pole vault (9-0 1/4), Kristen Robbins (Hempfield/Landisville, PA) was 11th in the 500 meters (1:19.17), and Caron Marra (Newark HS) was 15th in the 3,000 meters (10:31.61).
