Delaware at St. Valentine's Invitational


BOSTON &endash; Sophomore Annemarie Quinn placed third overall in the high jump to lead University of Delaware competitors at the St. Valentine's Indoor Track and Field Invitational Saturday at the Boston University Armory.

The meet was the final regular season action for the UD women's indoor team before this Saturday's America East conference championships at Boston University.

Quinn (Strath-Haven/Wallingford, PA), who had not lost a high jump competition this season, placed third overall with a jump of 5-5 , just two inches off the winning height of 5-7 by Tamika Toppin of Connecticut.

Othere top Delaware performances included Caltha Seymour (A.I. duPont) placing fifth in the weight throw (48-11) and 10th in the shot put (36-2 1/4), Laura Dietrich (Northeastern/York, PA) placed seventh in the triple jump (34- ), Melissa Calvanico (Tottenville/Staten Island, NY) was eighth in the shot put (37-4), and Kate Schulhaus (Foxboro, MA HS) was 10th in the triple jump (31-8 ).

Also for the Hens, Jennifer Lublanecki (West Morris Central/Long Valley, NJ) was 13th in the 55 meters (7.56) and 19th in the 200 meters (26.45), Colleen Christopher (Ursuline HS) was 12th in the long jump (16-2 ) and 19th in the 55 meters (7.83), Denise Brijbasi (Suitland/Temple Hills, MD) was 12th in the triple jump (30-10 ), 17th in the long jump (15-4 ), and 22nd in the 55 meters (7.89), Liesje Cardillo (Bishop Eustace/Marlton, NJ) was 23rd in the 55 meter hurdles (9.53) and 48th in the 200 meters (28.2), and Tehera Nesfield (DelVal/Springdale, MD) was 16th in the long jump (15-9 ), 24th in the 55 meters (7.93), and 37th in the 200 meters (27.58).

Also for Delaware, Krista Kugler (A.I. duPont) was 13th in the 1,000 meters (3:13.35), Aimee Alexander (Carmel/Stormville, NY) was 14th in the mile (5:09.06), Rebecca Shaw (Dickinson HS) was 14th in the 500 meters (1:28.16), Jennie Chiller (Sharon, MA HS) was 15th in the weight throw (36-6), Jennifer Krisch (Great Valley/Malvern, PA) was 27th in the 800 meters (2:27.50); Kate Shaeffer (Williamsport, PA HS) was 28th in the 55 meter hurdles (10.00) and 53rd in the 200 meters (29.03), and Megan Wesolowski (Lenape/Mt. Laurel, NJ) was 41st in the 400 meters (1:08.09) and 51st in the 200 meters (28.97).
