NEWARK, DE-- The University of Delaware men's and women's cross country teams brought home victories at the University of Delaware Invitational at White Clay Creek State Park Saturday morning.

The Delaware women placed seven in the Top 20 as they defeated second-place Virginia Commonwealth by 26 points. Delaware's Aimee Alexander won the women's race with a time of 23:03.69, with teammate Sarah Johnson finishing 11.4 seconds behind to finish in second.

Delaware's Pat Riley took first place in the men's race with a time of 25:42.24 holding off VCU's Daniel Ndungu by four seconds. The next highest Blue Hen finisher was Mike Sadowsky, finishing fourth. The Hens placed eight runners in the Top 20.

The next meet for the Blue Hens will be in two weeks as they head to the Colonial Athletic Association Championships in Williamsburg, VA on Oct. 27th.
