Hen Novice Eights Team Places Fifth in
Semifinals at Dad Vail

-- The University of Delaware women's
rowing team closed out the 2005 season
Saturday with the Novice Eights team
placing fifth in the semifinals at the Dad
Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill
River.
The Novice
Eights team of Cami Off, Ashley
Sparano,Stephanie Hendrixson, Kristen
Cannatelli, Meghan Doletzky, Salena Klass,
Justine Strausser, Lana Rivers (right),
and Lauren Taylor rowed to a time of
8:05.25 to finish fifth but did not
advance to the finals. The Novice Eights
was the only Blue Hen team to advance to
Saturday's competition based on Friday's
results.
Buffalo
captured the semifinals heat with a time
of 7:45.96 and was followed by Saint
Joseph's (7:49.29), Villanova (7:55.88),
Army (7:56.25), Delaware, and Rochester
(8:10.02).
The Novice
Eights team advanced to the semifinals
after placing third in its heat Friday
night with a time of 8:14.70.
Only the
top two teams in each of the three
semifinal heats advanced to the finals.
Buffalo and Saint Joseph's advanced along
with Bucknell, Long Beach State,
Connecticut, and Michigan State.
