April 29, 2000 Blue Hen Rowers Take Three First Place Finishes on Schuylkill River
The Blue Hens took first place in the Junior Varsity Heavyweight Eight (6:46.8), the Novice Heavyweight Eight (7:03.5), and the Novice Four (7:27.2) races, placed second behind St. Joseph's in the Varsity Lightweight Eight (7:05.05) race, placed fourth in the Varsity Heavyweight Eight race (6:50.8), and placed sixth in the Varsity Fours (8:26.3) The Junior Varsity Heavyweight Eight boat included Dana Hammond, Jessica Colpo, Jenni Buckley, Lissa Kutz, Lauren Heller, Betsy Ferry, Vikki Humenik, Lisa Hardy, and Katey Prosser. The Novice Heavyweight Eight boat included Anna Christopher, Amy Servidea, Ashley Connell, Maggie Bartholomew, Jen Suminski, Robin Kraft, Logan Thompson, Mckenzie Jones, and Marybeth Engel. The Novice Four A boat included Dana Hammond, Jess Colpo, Lauren Heller, Betsy Ferry, and Vikki Humenik. The Novice Four B boat of Allison Haug, Lisa Hary, Jennifer Buckley, Lissa Kutz, and Katey Prosser finished second in 7:33.2 The Varsity Lightweight Eight boat included Jenn O'Keefe, Danielle Stevens, Nicole Belsole, Denise Burke, Tory Yanakos, Laurie Patria, Susan Krause, Nicole Ferrari, and Whitney McCormick. The Varsity Heavyweight Eight boat included Emily Bercaw, Amanda Duley, Gail Orem, Gayle Dornan, Jessica Ayers, Karen Hommer, Courtney Levering, Bizzy Schultz, and Heather Bieler. The Varsity Four boat included Krista Volikas, Bridget Fairchild, Karina McBride, and Lindsay Morris. The team will compete at the Mid-Atlantic Championships next Saturday at Occoquan, VA.
