NEWARK, DE -- Ethlynne Thomas (right), a junior guard with the Blue Hen women's basketball team, will miss at least 10 days of action with a chipped bone in her right ankle.
Thomas sustained the injury during practice, according to Delaware head coach Tina Martin.
Thomas scored two points and grabbed four rebounds in the Hens' 54-43 loss to visiting La Salle on Nov. 28. That performance came just four days after she posted career highs of 10 points and six rebounds in a 62-46 setback against Murray State in the Panera Bread Challenge.
The 5-foot-10 guard from Gaithersburg, MD is averaging 3.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in 15 minutes per game for Delaware, which has lost six straight games for the first time since the 1997-98 season. Thomas has played in all seven games this year, including three starts. Last season, she averaged 0.9 points and 0.9 rebounds in 21 appearances.
