NEWARK, DE - Cindy Johnson scored a career-high 26 points and freshman Megan Dellegrotti hit a career-high 18 points to lead the University of Delaware to its fourth straight victory and eighth straight home triumph Tuesday night at the Bob Carpenter Center.

The Hens, playing without top player Danielle Leyfert who injured an ankle in a win over Hartford Saturday, improved to 10-5 with its fourth straight league win and in the process surpassed last year's entire conference win total (3-15). The Hens' 10 wins also marked the highest total in head coach Tina Martin's three years at the helm.

Hofstra (4-12, 2-6) lost its sixth straight America East game despite 14 points from Tracy Abromavage and 13 points and 13 rebounds from Kimberly Coke. The Hens are now 15-0 all-time vs. Hofstra in Newark, DE.

Johnson hit on 10 of 18 shots from the field and was 6 of 10 from the line for 26 points while Dellegrotti was 4 for 9 from the field and was perfect on all nine free throws. Renee Baker added 10 points and Karen Mulligan made seven steals, one shy of the UD record, for the Blue Hens.

Delaware jumped out to a 35-21 halftime lead and led the entire way. Hofstra cut the Blue Hen lead to 38-30 with 14:10 left to play, but the Hens followed with a 9-2 run and were never threatened the rest of the way.
