BOSTON -- Northeastern guard Tesha Tinsley exploded for a school record 41 points and the Huskies used a sizzling shooting performance in the second half to down the University of Delaware 90-67 in America East women's basketball Saturday at Cabot Gym.

The Blue Hens, who got a team-high 22 points from Cindy Johnson and 17 points from Danielle Leyfert, dropped their second straight game to fall to 6-5, 0-3 America East. Northeastern, which hit on 19 of 25 second half shots for a 76 percent mark, overcame a two-point halftime deficit to improve to 8-3, 2-1.

Tinsley hit on 14 of 15 shots from the field and connected on all three three-point attempts to lead the Huskies. She was 9 for 9 from the field and 10 for 10 from the foul line in the second half and also pulled nine rebounds and dished out three assists. Wanda Almengot added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Northeastern, which put four scorers in double figures.

The Hens, who lost their 13th straight conference road game, led 37-35 at halftime but couldn't hold the lead as Northeastern came out on a 14-0 run to start the half and never looked back. The Hens, who were hurt by 31 percent shooting from the field in the second half (11 of 36), cut the lead to 61-52 with 7:55 left to play, but Northeastern pulled away.
