(Exhibition) Nov. 6, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. L 72-79 (OT) The University of Delaware concluded its exhibition season on Friday by dropping a 79-72 decision in overtime to the Belarussian Under-22 National team. The Blue Hens trailed for the whole game, including a 12-point second half deficit, until Danielle Leyfert tied the score by hitting a three-pointer with four seconds left to tie the score at 66. After Belarussia turned the ball over on the next posession, Renee Baker missed a three-point shot as time expired. Belarussia took over in overtime for the 79-72 win. Baker had 18 points and a game-high 13 rebounds for Delaware in a losing effort. Freshman Lindsay Davis and Cindy Johnson also chipped in scoring 11 points in the game, Davis also had a team high five assists and grabbed eight rebounds. Belarussia was led by Janna Gorodetskaya and Natalia Martchenko. Gorodetskayahad a game-high 27 points and a game-high 10 rebounds and Martchenko had 25 points and a game-high 6 assists. Delaware was ice cold from the field in the first half for the second game in a row shooting .296 percent in the half. They heated up in the second half and shot .552 percent, but were not able to come up with the victory.
