junior...major impact player for the Blue
Hens whose game should continue to develop
to an even higher level...earned
second-team All-America East as a
sophomore last season...led the team in
ppg (15.5), assists (80), steals (54) and
also averaged 5.8 rpg, while shooting .433
from the field and .757 from the
line...first Delaware player since Colleen
McNamara on Feb. 6 , 1995 to be named
America East Player of the Week...Blue
Hens were 6-0 when Leyfert scored 20 or
more points last season...had a
season-high 26 points and a career-high 11
rebounds against Canisius (12/20/98), had
a season-high six assists against James
Madison (12/12/98) and had a career-high
seven steals against Boston University
(1/30/99), one off a school
record...represented Delaware at the NCAA
Leadership conference in Orlando, Fla in

against James Madison (12/12/98) and a
season-high 13 rebounds against UNLV
