Towson 59, Delaware 53 January 22, 2000   TOWSON, MD -- Mylisa Pilione scored all of her 20 points in the second half off the bench to spark a Towson University rally from 19 points down in the second half to hand Delaware a 59-53 loss in women's basketball action Saturday afternoon. Delaware (11-6, 4-4 America East) scored the first four points of the second half to take a 38-19 lead with 17:53 to play in the game. However, Pilione, who was 0 for 5 from the field in 12 first half minutes, scored 14 of Towson's next 16 points, including four three-pointers, over a four-minute span to cut the Blue Hen advantage to 40-35. After Delaware got the lead back to nine, 44-35, on two Danielle Leyfert free throws and a Christina Rible jumper, Pilione sparked a 10-2 run to make it a one-point game. She scored six of the Tigers' 10 points in the spurt to cut the Delaware lead to 46-45 with 6:40 to play. The teams battled back and forth over the next few minutes until the Tigers (5-11, 3-5) took control by scoring seven of the game's final nine points over the last 2:49. "We definitely got rattled," said Delaware head coach Tina Martin. "We didn't finish and we lost our composure. We didn't take good shots." Leyfert, a junior from Vienna, VA, finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Delaware before fouling out with 16 seconds to play. The Blue Hens shot just 28.6% from the field for the game, but had managed to forge a 34-19 halftime lead by shooting 14 for 15 at the foul line in the first half. Leading scorer Cindy Johnson was held to just six points.
