Delaware Volleyball Falls at James Madison, 3-0

athlete photoHARRISONBURG, VA -- Sophomore Kelly Gibson and junior Colleen Walsh both recorded doubles-doubles but the Delaware volleyball team still fell to James Madison Friday evening in Colonial Athletic Association action as the Hens fell to the Dukes 3-0 (30-28, 30-17, 30-28) at Sinclair Gymnasium.

For the Blue Hens, Gibson posted 16 kills and a team-high 14 digs while Walsh, the current CAA leader in kills per game with 4.74, tallied 16 kills to go along with 11 digs. Junior setter Megan Welch (right), who leads the conference is assists per game with 13.26, led Delaware with 40 assists.

James Madison improves to 13-6 and 6-3 in the CAA, while Delaware lost their fourth straight match while falling to 14-5 and 5-5 in conference play.

James Madison was led by Allyson Halls, who recorded a team-high 14 kills while only committing three errors. Jena Pierson led the Dukes with a game-high 26 digs.

The Hens will return to action Saturday when they travel to George Mason. Match time is set for 5 p.m.
