The University of Delaware women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to host University of Massachusetts Saturday afternoon at the Phoenix Invitational at Curry Hicks Cage. After Delaware took the first game 15-13, UMass (2-1) came back with wins of 15-13, 15-12, 15-10 to take the match. Senior Joanna Dusza led the Blue Hens with 16 kills and 23 digs while sophomore Jennifer Wanner added 10 kills and 10 digs. Junior Sadie Bjornstad added 38 assists. Massachusetts got 10 or more kills from five different players led by Rebecca Hasson with 18.

The University of Delaware volleyball team won its first match of the season, taking a 3-2 win over Siena in the Phoenix Invitational. The Blue Hens (1-3) downed Siena (0-4), 15-15, 6-15, 15-2, 16-18, 15-10 in their final match of the four-match tournament. Senior Joanna Dusza, who was named to the All-Tournament team, led the Hens with 10 kills and six digs while Amy Carroll had 12 kills and Jennifer Wanner added 11 kills and eight digs. Sadie Bjornstad had 48 assists for the Hens.
