Sarah Graves, a 2004 graduate of Macalester (MN) College, was named a graduate assistant coach with the University of Delaware volleyball team on Aug. 17, 2006. She has served on the staff for the last two seasons.

In her first year with the Blue Hens in 2006, she helped lead the team to a 21-7 record, a fifth place finish in the Colonial Athletic Association regular season standings with an 11-7 mark, and a berth in the CAA semifinals before falling to eventual league champion Hofstra.

During the 2007 season, her second with the team, she helped lead Delaware to a 31-5 record, its first ever CAA Championship, and a berth in the NCAA playoffs. In the tournament, her Blue Hens upset Princeton, 3-1, in the first round before losing a closely-contested 3-1 decision to No. 18 St. John's in the round of 32.

Graves, a native of Lawrence, KS, earned her degree in communications and media studies with a minor in classics at Macalester. She will pursue a master’s degree at Delaware. She joins the staff that includes head coach Bonnie Kenny and associate head coach Cindy Gregory.

While at NCAA Division III Macalester, Graves played right side hitter and setter and was a three-year captain for the Scots. She led the team in service aces for three consecutive seasons and finished her career ranked third in school history in assists, block assists, and aces.

She graduated from Lawrence Free State High School in Lawrence, KS in 2000. She was a standout player, starting for three seasons and leading the team to a second place finish at the state championships in 1998 and a fourth place finish in 1999.
