NEWARK, DE - Jennifer Wanner and Joanna Dusza lead the University of Delaware to an upset victory over the University of New Hampshire, 3-2 (16-14, 7-15, 9-15, 15-2, 15-6) Saturday at the Carpenter Sports Building.

Delaware (10-18, 5-5 America East) was led by junior Jennifer Wanner, who posted 19 kills and 11 digs. Captain Joanna Dusza aided the effort with 14 kills and 16 digs.

New Hampshire (19-11, 8-2 America East) had strong performances from Jillian Ross, who had 12 kills and 13 digs, and Bethany Cole, who added 12 kills and seven blocks.

In the first game of the afternoon, Delaware rallied from a 14-5 deficit in order to overcome the Wildcat charge and take the game, 16-14.

New Hampshire captured the next two games to lead 2-1.

Delaware began to build on momentum as it defeated New Hampshire in the fourth game, 15-2. The momentum carried into the speed-scoring fifth game as Delaware took the win with a game score of 15-6.

In the match, Dusza moved into second place at Delaware in career kills with 1,288, surpassing Renee DuFlon (1,283 kills, 1976-79). She also moved into second at Delaware in career digs with 1,620, surpassing Kathy Shaw (1,607 digs, 1992-94).

Delaware will take to the floor on Sunday, when it battles the University of Maine in an America East match. The match will be played at the Carpenter Sports Building at 1 p.m.
