and 2-1
TOWSON, MD -- The University of Delaware
softball team (30-12, 7-3 America East) was swept today
(Saturday) by Towson University (27-15, 4-4) 1-0 and 2-1 at
Towson Center Field. It marked the first time this season

the first inning of game one. Towson's Lisa Pollock led off
with a single and then stole second. Pollock reached third

Julie Hughes held the high-powered Blue Hen offense to just
five hits and allowed just three base runners to reach third
base for the victory. Delaware's Kristi O'Connell allowed
five hits and the unearned run while striking out five.
Towson took a 1-0 in the fifth inning of
game two when Chris Napora homered. Delaware answered back
in the sixth with a RBI single by Lauren Mark which also
sent the game into extra innings. In the ninth, Towson put
the first two batters on base. Julie Ciccarelli popped out
and Napora reached on a fielder's choice. Pollack scored
the winning run on an error by Carolyn Wasilewski. Kathleen
O'Hara picked up the win for Towson while Blue Hen Krysta
