Lehigh 5, Delaware 4 March 26, 2003  Lehigh Rallies to Down Blue Hens BETHLEHEM, PA -- Lehigh took advantage of four walks, a hit batter and an error to score five runs on just one hit as the host Mountain Hawks defeated Delaware, 5-4, in softball action at Kaufman Field on Wednesday afternoon. The second game of the doubleheader was postponed by rain. With Delaware leading 2-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth, Lehigh scored its five runs on just one hit, a single by Erin Hengemuhle. Hengemuhle's bases loaded single, coupled with a Delaware error on the play, plated three runs and gave Lehigh a 5-2 lead. Jenny Gilkins, who went 4-for-4 with three RBI on the day, drove in two in the top of the sixth with a single to right with the bases loaded to make it a 5-4 game. However, Lauren Gardner was thrown out at the plate with the tying run on the play after Gilkins was hung-up between first and second. Delaware had a chance to tie again in the seventh. Laura Streets walked to open the inning and moved to second on a passed ball. However, winning pitcher Emily Ling (6-1) got a pop out, strike out and ground out to pitch out of the trouble and earn the complete game win. Jenn Joseph (4-3) took the loss for Delaware, allowing five hits and walking eight, while striking out three. Delaware will host Cornell on Sunday at 12 noon.
