James Madison 3, Delaware2 Delaware 4, James Madison 3 April 5, 2003 Blue Hens split with CAA rival James Madison, Streets hits record sixth homer of the season   Laura Streets HARRISONBURG, VA -- The University of Delaware softball team salvaged a doubleheader split with Colonial Athletic Association rival James Madison with a 4-3 win in the nightcap. The Dukes won another one run game, 3-2 in the opening game at the JMU Softball Complex in Harrisonburg, VA. Liz Winslow's RBI groundout in the top of the eighth inning scored Laura Streets for the winning run in the nightcap. Streets led off the inning with a walk and moved to second on Jenn Joseph's sacrifice bunt. Streets advanced to third on a single by Melissa Basilio and Winslow followed with the grounder to second base for the victory. Lindsay Jones pitched 7.0 innings, scattering 11 hits allowing three runs and struck out two to improve her season record to 4-2. Joseph pitched a scoreless eighth inning to pick up her first save of the season. With the Hens leading 1-0, Joseph ripped a two RBI double in the top of the third inning scoring Jenny Gilkins and Sarai Lavandero for a 3-0 lead. Lavandero went 2-for-4 with two runs scored while Joseph was 1-for-3 with two RBI. The Dukes fought back with a run in the fourth and two runs in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings. Leah Conley suffered the loss allowing one run on three hits over 5.1 innings of relief. In the opener, Streets put the Hens up 2-0 on her sixth homer of the season in the fourth inning. She now holds the all-time Delaware record for homeruns in a single season, breaking a tie with Theresa Kugelmann, who hit five homers in 1980. James Madison (14-19, 1-1 CAA) once again came back with single runs in the fourth and sixth inning to tie the game 2-2. In the bottom of the seventh, Kelly Berkemeier doubled home the game-winner to take game one 3-2.
