Melissa Basilio hit her first collegiate home run in a losing effort

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Jonnae McClain's RBI single in the bottom of the sixth was the difference as Drexel topped Delaware, 2-1, in CAA softball action Sunday afternoon.

McClain's only hit of the afternoon scored Alicia Good with one out to break a 1-1 tie. Good, who drove in Drexel's other run with an RBI single in the third inning, was 3-for-3 on the afternoon.

Delaware had tied the game in the top of the fifth inning on junior Melissa Basilio's first collegiate home run. The Pickering, Ontario native's solo shot led off the fifth inning and made it a 1-1 game.

Laura Tynio (6-12) picked up the win for Drexel (7-29, 2-7), walking one and allowing just four hits in the complete game effort. Delaware's Amanda Cariello (9-8) took the loss.

Delaware (15-18, 3-6) will travel to Villanova for a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday at 3 p.m.
