CAA Tournament - Day 2 George Mason 4, Delaware 2 May 11, 2002     HEMPSTEAD, NY -- Kimberly Braxton's solo home run sparked a three-run sixth inning and spelled doom for the University of Delaware as George Mason eliminated the Blue Hens, 4-2, at the Colonial Athletic Association Softball Tournament Saturday afternoon. Braxton's shot to left field led off the sixth and broke a 1-1 tie as George Mason (40-18) advanced to face James Madison in another elimination round game. Delaware (19-27) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Mandy Welch doubled to right center to lead off the inning. She moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored when Laura Streets beat out a squeeze bunt to give Delaware a 1-0 lead. Welch finished the day 2-for-4 and ended her collegiate career with a UD record 205 career hits. The Patriots, however, tied the score in the second on an RBI single by Corey Stokes. They later took the lead on Braxton's home run and tacked on a pair of unearned runs in the inning to extend the lead to 4-1. Delaware got one run back in the seventh when Welch smacked her second double of the game, which scored Jenn Joseph.
