At Delaware: Will challenge for the starting first base or designated player spots for the Blue Hens • enters the season tied for 11th in school history with four home runs, tied for 12th with 52 runs batted in, and tied for 14th with 21 doubles.
2007: Appeared in 31 games while starting 17 for Delaware • batted .259 with 14 hits, five runs scored, three doubles and a home run • went 2 for 4 with an RBI in season-opener against Binghamton (3/2) • hit a pinch hit two-run home run with two outs in the seventh inning to give Delaware the lead at UMBC (4/18).
2006: Appeared in 54 games while making 50 starts (41 at first base) • tied for second on the team with seven doubles and ranked fourth with 20 RBI • batted .234 while posting 36 hits and 17 runs scored • went 4 for 5 with two runs scored versus George Mason (3/11) • both home runs came on the same day (3/17) in wins over Penn and St. Francis (NY) • went 3 for 4 with a run scored and two RBI against the Quakers and was 3 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI at Rider (4/12) • also had five two-hit games on the year • went a combined 4 for 8 with two runs scored and an RBI in the Blue Hens’ two CAA Tournament games as she was named to the All-Tournament Team.
2005: Appeared in all 53 games and started 52 • tied for seventh in a single season at Delaware with 11 doubles and 26 RBI • ranked second on the team with 44 hits and 62 total bases, and was fourth with 18 runs scored • also was second on the Blue Hens with 13 multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games • ranked sixth in the CAA in doubles and RBI, and was 15th with both a .284 batting average and a .400 slugging percentage • recorded a team-best seven game hit streak from April 21 through May 1 (had two hits in five of those games and knocked in a run in the last six) • also had a six-game hitting streak from March 5 through March 16 • hit a three-run home run against Delaware State (3/20) • went 2 for 5 and also had three RBI at Bucknell (4/27) • went 4 for 7 with two runs scored and an RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Pennsylvania (3/16).
High School: Named all-conference and all-area during senior season at Wheaton Warrenville South High School • led team to the regional championship as a sophomore and senior, and to the conference title as a junior • also was on the swimming team at Nazareth Academy as a freshman.
Personal: Barbara Traynor ("trainer") • daughter of Raymond and Linda Traynor • has a sister Pauline (19), and brothers William (16) and Philip (16) • honor student as a sport management major at Delaware with a minor in education • interned over last summer with the Kane County (IL) Cougars, a Class A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. |
