NEWARK, DE -- Rainy weather has caused havoc with the University of Delaware athletics schedule as games have been cancelled, postponed, or changed for baseball, softball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, and men's and women's track and field.

The weather has also affected spring practice for the Blue Hen football this weekend.

Below are the changes to the UD athletics schedule:

Baseball: Delaware's weekend series vs. Sacred Heart at home at Bob Hannah Stadium has been changed. The doubleheader scheduled for Saturday, March 17 at 12 noon has been pushed back to a single nine-inning game at 3 p.m. Sunday's scheduled doubleheader at 12 noon will now be a doubleheader (Game 1 nine innings; Game 2 seven innings).

Softball: Delaware's weekend action at the Delaware State Bash at the Beach in Georgetown, DE has been altered. Friday's action had already been cancelled and now Saturday's games have also been washed out. Tournament officials hope to have teams play 2-3 games on Sunday, Marcah 18 and will announce a revised schedule later this weekend.

Football: Delaware's scheduled spring practices for Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17 have been canceled. The team will practice Sunday, March 18 at 9 a.m. at the Delaware practice fields.

Men's Lacrosse: Delaware was not able to find a replacement for the Saturday, March 17 home game that was cancelled back in January when Butler announced it was dropping its program. Thus, there will be no game on this date and the Blue Hens will be idle until their March 24 home game vs. Hofstra at Rullo Stadium.

Men's and Women's Outdoor Track: Delaware was not able to find an away meet to compete at for this Saturday, March 17 and thus will be idle this week. The UD teams have also decided not to compete at the Monmouth Invitational March 23-24 and at the University of North Carolina Invitational March 31-April 1. The teams will open their seasons March 24 at the Towson Invitation.

Women's Lacrosse: Delaware has rescheduled it game vs. Loyola (MD) that was postponed due to snow back on March 7. The game will now be played April 24 at 3 p.m. at Rullo Stadium.
