Delaware Student-Athletes Honored on CAA
Commissioner's Academic Honor

RICHMOND,
VA -- A total of 62 University of Delaware
student-athletes have been named to the
Colonial Athletic Association
Commissioner's Academic Honor for the most
recent fall semester.
Student-athletes
from the CAA sponsored fall sports of
field hockey, volleyball, men's soccer,
women's soccer, men's cross country, and
women's cross country who recorded either
a 3.2 or better grade point index for the
fall semester or maintained a 3.2 or
better cumulative gpa were eligible for
the award. The CAA will announce the
winter and spring sport recipients at the
end of the spring semester in June.
Delaware's
total of 64 student-athletes included 17
members of the women's cross country
squad, 12 women's soccer players, 11 field
hockey players, eight volleyball players,
nine members of the men's cross country
team, and seven men's soccer players.
Those
honored in women's cross country were
Lindsay Barnes, Allison Behrle, Christine
Dierickx, Stefanie Gordon, Brenda Greene,
Kate Klim, Kristine Marsh, Mary Martini,
Linsey Norris, Ashley Olsen, Colleen Reid,
Lauren Shaub, Julianne Twomey, Danielle
Ward, Leslie Wason, Meghan Weaver, and
Sari Weissbard.
Honored in
field hockey were Megan Allen, Jessi
Balmer, Carly Campana, Lauren Carr, Leah
Geib, Kaili Kao, A.J. Karsten, Erica
LaBar, Lindsey Piester, Dusti Vanderwende,
and Amanda Warrington while the UD women's
soccer award winners were Allison Kendro,
Jennifer Krepps, Melissa Kunisky, Shelby
Lawrence, Kendall Lytwynec, Christina
Martinik, Bonnie Mills, Megan Milstone,
Lindsay Novotny, Emily Sammis, Lindsey
Shover, and Christine
Wrightson.
Members of
the men's cross country team were Matt
Bryden, Charlie Dielmann, Kevin DuPrey,
Dan Frey, Tyler Mayforth, Eugene
McAuliffe, and Kyle Schmid; honored in
volleyball were Sarah Engle, Kristine
Gneiss, Erin Kardine, Allison Lutz, Megan
McGrath, Valerie Murphy, Nicole Stuka, and
Colleen Walsh; and honored in men's soccer
were Hayes Glanden, Matt Haney, Kyle
Haynes, Anthony Molinaro, Josh Sand, Alex
Schmid, and Richard Zeller.
Three Blue
Hens - field hockey senior Leah Geib
(Souderton/Schwenksville, PA), men's
soccer sophomore Matt Haney (St.
Elizabeth's/Wilmington, DE), and women's
cross country senior Mary Martini (Bishop
McDevitt/Hummelstown, PA) - each recorded
a perfect 4.0 grade point index for the
fall semester.
